MAPS Sends Expert Delegation to UN Commission on Narcotic Drugs for CND 69 in Vienna, March 9-13, 2026

MAPS will send an expert delegation to the 69th session of the United Nations Commission on Narcotic Drugs (CND) in Vienna, Austria, held March 9-13, 2026. The delegation includes senior academics, policy experts, and Veterans from the United States, Europe, Australia, and the Middle East. Its goals are to educate CND member state delegates about psychedelic research, observe key proceedings, and build relationships with NGOs active in global drug policy reform. MAPS frames the effort as part of a public health and harm reduction approach, aiming to counter stigma and misinformation. The delegation is also returning to the CND main session for the first time in five years to participate in formal meetings, official side events, and civil society gatherings, with an emphasis on incorporating evidence from clinical research and supporting human rights and dignity for people using controlled substances in medical or traditional contexts.
