Paul Gillis-Smith - Psychedelics, Religion and Lisa Bieberman

Psychedelics, Religion, and Lisa Bieberman centers on the work of Lisa Bieberman, a key 1960s psychedelic harm reduction figure, and how psychedelic practice intersects with religious life. Paul Gillis-Smith discusses Psychedelic Information Center contributions tied to Bieberman’s legacy, then connects these themes to Quaker traditions and their relationship to LSD use. The conversation also looks at how spirituality can support psychedelic experiences through spiritual care and chaplaincy, including upcoming psychedelic and chaplaincy workshops. It situates these issues within Harvard Divinity School and the Center for the Study of World Religions mission and projects.
