Areyto Boriken - Ethnobotanical Adventure in Puerto Rico (Jan 24-25, 2026) focused on sacred cohoba and Taíno heritage

Areyto Boriken is an ethnobotanical adventure event presented by Ethnobotanical Adventures that connects Taíno cultural heritage with botanical knowledge. The program centers on the sacred cohoba plant and begins on Sat, January 24, 2026 with a lecture and walk at the Tibes Taíno Museum in Ponce, Puerto Rico. It continues with specialized workshops and presentations at Campamento Behiques in Maricao, Puerto Rico. On Sun, January 25, 2026, participants can choose a guided tour to the Batey-Delfin Del-Yaguez Archeological Park and/or visit Caguana Ceremonial Park, or remain at Campamento Behiques for a more relaxed option focused on the waterfalls. Guest contributors include historians, botanists and botanical illustrators, archaeologists and indigenous artists, mycologists, and a painter.
