Foundations of Psychedelic Therapy is a fully online, cohort-based education programme for mental health practitioners aiming to build core competence in psychedelic-assisted therapy. The curriculum covers evidence-based therapeutic practices, client-centered preparation and support, pharmacology and neurobiology, and patient safety skills including screening, contraindications, and risk mitigation. Modules move through the full PAT arc: historical and critical perspectives; clinical evidence on risks, processes, and outcomes; therapeutic mechanisms such as emotional breakthroughs and mystical experiences; models and modalities for integrating psychedelics into mental health care; preparation for sessions; working with non-ordinary states of consciousness and the role of ritual and community; session support and aftercare; and integration with long-term care infrastructures. The programme also addresses ethical complexities like informed consent and therapeutic touch and includes education on group therapy dynamics and boundaries. Experiential workshops use legal psilocybin-containing truffles, and the programme also references MDMA-assisted therapy and ketamine-assisted psychotherapy within its learning goals and modules.
