Solvonis receives US patent allowance for ketamine treatment across behavioural addictions, including binge eating and gambling

Solvonis Therapeutics says the US Patent and Trademark Office has allowed a method-of-use patent covering dissociative ketamine doses of at least 50 mg for all behavioural addictions, with or without psychotherapy and by any route. The claims include binge eating, gambling, gaming and compulsive sexual behaviour disorders, and expressly cover racemic ketamine, esketamine and arketamine. Solvonis identifies binge eating and gambling as its first commercial priorities, citing substantial affected populations and limited or absent approved medicines. Grant is expected in the first quarter of 2027, subject to formalities, with an anticipated term to May 2042. The company presents the allowance as a basis for clinical development, licensing and partnerships, while noting that patent allowance is not regulatory approval and that all programmes remain investigational.
