Einjähriges Ausbildungsprogramm in Amazonien vermittelt Shipibo-Konibo-Pflanzenwissen, Diäten, Ikaros und traditionelle Heilpraktiken

Nihue Rao School of Ancestral Knowledge offers a 12-month, in-person apprenticeship in the Peruvian Amazon for adults interested in Shipibo-Konibo ancestral knowledge and plant medicine. Students live and study on-site in private traditional huts, receive up to five learning sessions per week, and learn from Indigenous teachers and shamans through classroom instruction, ceremony, sacred songs called íkaros, basic language study, cultural ethnobotany, traditional healing concepts, and ethical approaches to intercultural work. A central component is the dieta, a supervised period of isolation and disciplined relationship with plant teachers, with opportunities to work with 12 master plants across herbaceous and arboreal categories. The program has January and June intakes, requires an interview, health form, informed consent, and commitment to dietary, silence, respect, and participation guidelines. Completion provides non-regulated training certificates, not academic or medical credentials.
