Infinidream turns any screen into a living painting with interactive, generative visuals for ambient enjoyment, artists, and installations

Infinidream is an open source platform for turning screens into animated, generative visual experiences that can function as ambient displays, meditation machines, screen savers, or interactive installations. Users can browse works from many artists, adjust playback speed to match their mood or music, control visuals remotely with a phone, and access the service through Mac, PC, Linux, or a web browser. The project grew from Scott Draves's Electric Sheep screen saver and includes contributions from Max Carlson, Guillaume Louel, and Al Lansley. Artists can upload finished work, create videos with hosted AI tools and a Python API, build participatory pieces, run private servers, and join a paid Creators Program. Planned features include prompt editing, broader device support, multi-screen control, social interaction, and audio-reactive visuals. The platform describes itself as an experiment in collective intelligence involving artists, AI, and audiences, and is supported through Patreon.
