Adventures in Success with Will Powers

Self-help motivational mantras and personal growth concepts are satirized in this 1983 comedy music video for the song "Adventures in Success" by Will Powers (a persona created by photographer Lynn Goldsmith). A synthesized, pitch-shifted voice delivers parody advice on three laws of success: listing personal assets, writing down a detailed ideal self, and holding a vivid mental image of ultimate accomplishment. Stylized 1980s computer graphics, animation, and retro video effects illustrate ordinary individuals transforming into confident high achievers.
