Why YouTube Deleted Several Channels

YouTube has recently enforced its community guidelines more strictly, leading to the removal of several channels showcasing drug use. This shift stems from pressure from advertisers concerned about their content appearing alongside material that could be perceived as promoting illegal activities or drug glorification. While some educational, scientific, and artistic content is permissible, the ambiguity and scale of content moderation often result in overzealous enforcement. Psychedelic and cannabis-focused creators are directly impacted by these policies, facing an environment where their content's typical presentation risks immediate channel termination. Creators are advised to pivot towards purely educational, non-glorifying formats or diversify to other platforms to preserve their work and community outreach.
