Richard Tyo - Does Microdosing Increase Compassion in Front-Line Mental Health Workers
Microdosing psilocybin is explored as a potential intervention for preventing burnout in front-line mental health workers. A preliminary grass-roots study compared front-line workers with a control population using Neff-validated compassion and self-compassion scales, combined with a qualitative questionnaire. Preliminary results suggest that, contrary to initial expectations, mental health workers exhibited lower self-compassion than the control population. While quantitative data remained early and sparse, the qualitative feedback highlighted increased awareness of emotions, improved mood, and a perceived deepening of mindfulness and connectivity in professional interactions.
