Manuel Villaescusa - Ayahuasca Visions Beyond the Amazon

Ayahuasca experiences are documented through a longitudinal series of drawings from a group of 20 participants, spanning six years of sessions. These illustrations track the personal evolutionary journeys of attendees, demonstrating how participants observe their own unconscious states and eventually transform challenging psychic sludge into states of clarity and integration. The process involves identifying recurring patterns such as vines, snakes, animal figures, and centers of light, which help participants navigate their inner states. Techniques such as setting intentions and recording key insights are essential to applying these spiritual experiences to daily life. The artistic process acts as a tool for grounding and making sense of profound visions, helping individuals move from states of chaos and resistance to connection and stillness. This work illuminates the importance of creating a dedicated space for processing and reflecting on psychoactive experiences long after the ceremony itself has concluded.
