The Secret Chief Revealed: Conversations With Leo Zeff, Pioneer in the Underground Psychedelic Therapy Movement, 2nd Edition (Revised Edition)

Leo Zeff (1912-1988) pioneered underground psychedelic therapy and research after psychedelics were declared illegal in the 1960s. The revised 2nd edition is presented as a transcription of an interview conducted in the 1980s, focusing on Zeff’s work, studies, and practice with psychedelic-assisted therapy, along with additional tributes and commentary. The book highlights Zeff’s focus on LSD and MDMA and includes contributions and perspectives from figures such as Albert Hofmann and Stanislav Grof, plus anecdotal insights from Zeff’s children, apprentice therapists, and patients. This 2022 revision also notes practical updates such as corrected errata, updated source links from the earlier 2004 edition, and an updated design, and it is described as a MAPS and Synergetic Press co-publication.
